Locate the endpoints and hold a nail over each. Apply gutter sealant to the end cap. Place a chalk line across the fascia to create an appropriate angle toward the downspout end. There should be an outlet at the bottom of the gutter to where the hole should be marked.

Cut the hole for the downspout using a hole saw. Use a square and pencil to mark the gutter length and cut to the line. Hidden fasteners are placed every 24 inches along the gutter run. Mark a line with chalk on the fascia every 10 feet 3 0 m and moving down 1 2 inch 1 3 cm for every point.

Slide the splices on as far as they ll go. Screw a downspout elbow to the outlet tube protruding down from the gutter. Measure the end point of the gutter with downward slope. Using a ladder snap a chalk line between the corners where you marked the old gutter locations.

You only need a slight slope to drain water. Hold another elbow against the house and cut a piece of downspout to fit between the two elbows. Below the shingles on the high side of the gutter run. Press the cap onto one end of the gutter.

Begin by installing a slip joint splice on each end of an inside corner fitting. When installing gutters set the proper slope by driving a nail 1 2 in. Snap a chalk line between the start and end of the gutter run. Then trim the first section of the gutter to length with tin snips. Apply gutter sealant to an end cap then press the cap onto one end of the gutter. Firmly hit the top of the nails with a hammer to drive them into each point.

Use a chalk line and make a mark from the inside of drain outlet. Install gutters 1 1 1 2 the end point so that they can drain water from overhanging shingles. Determine the length of the gutter by measuring the fascia. Installing gutters in 18 steps snap a chalk line across the fascia creating the proper pitch toward the downspout end.

Get the chalk line to determine and mark the highest point of the gutter run. Hook one side of the chalk line to the nail at the start of the gutter run. Drag the string to the end point and hook it over the nail. Repeat this process around the perimeter of the roof until all the gutter locations are adequately marked.
