If you ll be installing step flashing in which one piece of flashing is placed over the first in a staggered way apply additional cement and the next piece of flashing.
How to install roof flashing against a stucco wall.
It is important to overlap any old roofing felt by at least one foot.
Use your hammer and nails to secure the felt into place.
Then install new stucco over the existing including a wrb.
If you do all this carefully and neatly the existing stucco stays and looks fine.
When you have finished installing the flashing use either caulk or additional stucco to seal around the edges and prevent water infiltration to the roof.
Flexible flashing tape seals the eave to the wall.
Slide a 6x6 galvanized flashing up behind the stucco and paper.
Above the roof sheathing.
Once the flexible flashing is set i apply a piece of housewrap along the wall where the fascia meets it.
If the stucco has not been installed then the flashing should be underneath the stucco.
I use a wide piece of flexible flashing tape to protect the area between the subfascia and the wall.
If the stucco is already in place then the flashing must rest against the stucco in a similar manner to that of a brick wall.
Alternatively if allowed install painted metal wall panels from roof flashing up and under existing cap flashing.
Attach it to the roof in the same way.
The new roof is sealed to the flashing you just installed.

Flash onto the surface of the existing stucco.

Stucco presents its own logistics problem.
Apply the roofing felt and nail the first piece of step flashing to the lowest.
After you have gathered all your materials you will lay roofing felt over the area that will have flashing.
When the plywood deck is in place slide the 6x6 flashing down to the deck and nail to the deck at the outside edge of the flashing.
Wrap the top of the wall with the wrb and install a new cap flashing.
