How to make sheet metal parts in solidworks.
Sketch out your profile make sure your sketch is fully defined and that straight entities are tangent to arcs.
Click front plane and click on sketch.
Select your sketch in the feature tree then in the command manager select the base flange.

Click on the top plane and then create a new sketch.
To create a sheet metal part with sharp bends.
When bending sheet metal you may want to create sharp bends instead of round bends.
Click offset entities and click l sketch.
How to model complex sheet metal parts in solidworks step 1.
First create a new part.
Set offset distance as 0 1in.
Right click on the toolbar and activate sheet metal.
Click on the sheet.
Click features extruded boss base set d1 to 0 5in and ok.
Create a part by sketching the part profile then extruding a thin feature part.
Dimension sketch with smart dimension as 1in x 1in.
Click insert bends or click insert sheet metal bends.
I notice that in every part my parts are with 2 options in sheet metal.
Now sketch and use smart dimension to give a dimension to the design.
Use line sketch and connected open end of this sketch and make it close both end.
