Once separated remove the nails and carefully pull the aluminum panel down to remove. To remove a piece at your eye level slide the zip tool under the piece above that one. Use a zip tool to disconnect two pieces of siding. This cannot be removed without damaging the aluminum which is fine if you plan to trash it but can be a problem if you are planning to keep your aluminum.

If you want to remove a section of the siding without damaging it however will take a bit more finesse. It can rust or be damaged in dangerous weather conditions. Removing aluminum siding is not complicated. Do not press down on the siding while removing nails.

It can be tiresome but there is nothing complex about the process. Reveal the nails anchoring a piece to the wall by sticking the zip tool under the bottom of the piece above it. Generally the aluminum that wraps over your old wood trim is held in place with small aluminum nails. Remove the nails that are visible for the siding section using a nail pry bar and pliers.

You can bend or crease the siding. What you ll need for the job. Isolate the piece of siding you need to remove and find its outermost edge on either side. Slide the separating tool underneath the bottom edge of the siding piece that is directly above the piece.
